An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the entrance to the loop involving Bandinelli (GB), unplaced, ridden by James Doyle; Lord Protector (GER), placed third, ridden by Hector Crouch and the winner, Pleasant Man (GB), ridden by Jason Watson.
The interference was found to be accidental as a free-running Lord Protector (GER) had to be checked off the heels of Bandinelli (GB), resulting in Pleasant Man (GB) receiving a nudge.
Following the race, James Doyle reported that Bandinelli (GB), unplaced, stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the colt shortly after the race failed to reveal any abnormalities.
