Rhyme Scheme (IRE), unplaced, jumped awkwardly from the stalls and shifted left-handed hampering Heat And Dust (GB), placed second, which in turn heavily bumped Willy Nilly (ORE), unplaced, causing it to make contact with the hindquarters of No Diggity (IRE), placed sixth.
After viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching the first bend involving the winner, Bearwith (GB), ridden by Louis Steward, Heat And Dust (GB), placed second, ridden by Luke Morris, and No Diggity (IRE), placed sixth, ridden by Ray Dawson.
Steward was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he allowed his mount to edge left-handed when insufficiently clear, moving Heat And Dust (GB) off its intended line which in turn caused Dawson to have to check No Diggity (IRE) off heels for a number of strides.
Following the race, Theodore Ladd reported that Rhyme Scheme (IRE), unplaced, stopped quickly.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of Rhyme Scheme (IRE) during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
