Permission was given for Thematic (USA) to be mounted in the chute, and for Tibbie Dunbar (GB) to wear a red hood which was removed at the start.
Approximately three and a half furlongs out Tinsmith (GB), unplaced, hung left-handed crowding Flying Standard (IRE), placed second, onto Scheherazade (GB), unplaced, which was tightened for racing room against the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The winner, First Charge (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Ffos Las on 26 September 2021, where the gelding finished eleventh of fourteen, beaten by 13¾ lengths.
Mark Loughnane's explanation that First Charge (IRE) had benefitted for stepping up in trip from 1 mile 2 furlongs to 2 miles was noted; the gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Tyler Heard, reported that Frame Rate (GB), placed third, hung right-handed throughout; the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding had lost its right-fore shoe.
William Cox reported that Barca (USA), unplaced, hung right-handed throughout.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Telefina (GB), placed seventh, had lost its right-fore shoe, and that Alambrista (GB), placed eighth, had lost its left-fore shoe.
