An enquiry was held to consider interference from approximately 1 furlong out, involving Diffident Spirit (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Mr Lewis Kent, Saved Lizzie (GB), placed second, ridden by Mr Jack Callan and King Of The Dance (IRE), placed fourth, ridden by Miss Jessica Llewellyn.
Miss Katie Martin, the rider of Mr Trick (IRE), placed third, was also present but was found not to be involved.
Being 7lb claiming amateurs, all jockeys were offered the opportunity to be accompanied but declined.
Mr Callan was suspended for 3 days on dates which will be notified to him by the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed for a sustained period, without sufficient correction, initially carrying Diffident Spirit (GB) several horse widths off its intended line before Kent was ultimately forced to take a check and also causing King Of The Dance (IRE) to be intimidated off its intended line.
The winner, King Of Speed (IRE), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Leicester on 8 October 2024 where the gelding finished eighth of fourteen, beaten 19 lengths.
It was noted that Mark Loughnane could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form.
King Of Speed (IRE) was routine tested.
