FINAL (CLASS 1) (Grade 3) (GBB RACE) Karl Philippe (FR), trained by Fergal O’Brien, was late in the Parade Ring due to their runner in the previous race requiring attention from the Veterinary Officer.
Following the race, Paddy Brennan reported that Karl Philippe (FR), which was pulled up, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The Veterinary Officer further reported that Captain Morgs (IRE), unplaced, had lost its left fore shoe and that Ocean Drifter (IRE), which was pulled up, had lost its right fore shoe.
Nicky Henderson's representative reported that Patroclus (IRE), which was pulled up, was unsuited by the going which was officially described as Soft, Heavy in Places, and would prefer a quicker surface; the Veterinary Officer reported that the gelding had an over reach to its left fore and had lost its left fore shoe.
