The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Commandant, trained by Joseph Patrick O'Brien, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to have lost a right hind shoe but was otherwise post race normal
The Stewards requested a report from Gordon Elliott, trainer, as to the apparent improvement in form of Serious Ego (GER), placed first, as compared with its recent form. Aidan O'Ryan, Authorised representative for Gordon Elliot reported that Serious Ego had been disappointing in the past but today he raced on Soft ground for the first time in his racing career and this is the only reason that he can forward for the improved performance. Having considered the evidence the Stewards noted the content of the report.
