The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Back To Bataan, ridden by S.D
Torrens, placed third, British Art (GB), ridden by B. Browne, placed first and Bracka Lily, ridden by S.J. Crimin, placed second, where it appeared interference occured. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings but advised B. Browne to ride with more care in the future
The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Miss Colleen Murphy, that J.C. Canavan, rider of Piranto, had weighed in at 1.6lbs overweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he was dehydrated and had a drink of water after weighing out. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that J.C. Canavan was in breach of Rule 231 and suspended him for 1 raceday having taken his previous record into consideration

An extended handicap hurdle for four yrs old and upwards rated 80-102 Penalties - Winner of a hurdle race after calculation of the handicap to carry 6lb extra for each hurdle race won. Riders - Confined to Professional under I.N.H.S. Rules who have not lost the right to claim the allowance under Rule 52 (iii). Allowances (up to and including 21st December and which are not cumulative) who have not ridden the winners of 25 *races allowed 4lb Those who have not ridden the winners of 40 *races allowed 2lb No allowance to riders under Rule 52 (iii) may be claimed.
