The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages of this race involving American Money, ridden by K.E Buckley, placed first, Bint Freya, ridden by B.J. Cooper, placed third, and Glenabo Bridge, ridden by J.I. Duggan, placed second, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. In his evidence, J. Duggan stated that he received contact a number of times which had cost him momentum in the closing stages. B.J. Cooper stated that he was slightly impeded but felt it had no impact on his finishing position. K.E. Buckley stated that his mount was hanging slightly left in the straight but felt he did all he could to keep his mount straight. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that while minor interference had occurred the winner had not improved its finishing position in relation to any other horse and they therefore made no alteration to the judges placings, Furthermore, they took no further action.
P. Byrnes, rider of Cafe Del Mar, trained by David J Phelan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount never travelled
Miss A.L. Fitzgibbon, rider of Brownstone, trained by Michael Winters, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount lost his action
K.C. Sexton, rider of Scarbrook, trained by E.Sheehy, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount stopped quickly
The Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Veterinary Officer examined Scarbrook, trained by E.Sheehy, at the request of the Raceday Stewards and reported the animal to have a graze on his lateral left hind leg and may have been struck into in running otherwise post race normal
