Upon leaving the stalls, My Boy Jack (GB), placed third, jumped slightly left-handed impeding Legal Mind (GB), unplaced, which in turn gave a significant bump to the winner, Neptune Legend (IRE), but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of My Boy Jack (GB).
An enquiry was held to consider interference inside 1½ furlongs out involving Coast (GB), unplaced, ridden by Andrea Pinna, My Boy Jack (GB), placed third, ridden by Brandon Wilkie, Red Walls (GB), unplaced, ridden by Ethan Jones, Jackmeister Rudi (GB), placed fourth, ridden by William Pyle and Dodgy Bob (GB), placed fifth, ridden by Morgan Cole.
As a 7lb claiming apprentice, Pinna was offered the opportunity to be accompanied in the enquiry but declined.
Cole was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as she had allowed her mount to drift right-handed without sufficient or timely correction causing interference to Jackmeister Rudi (GB) as its rider was attempting to take a legitimate gap between her mount and Red Walls (GB).
This resulted in Jackmeister Rudi (GB) having his ground taken when moved off its intended racing line and in turn caused both Red Walls (GB) and Coast (GB) to be hampered when tightened for racing room to the inside of My Boy Jack (GB), which itself had edged slightly left-handed and had his quarters turned when bumping with Red Walls (GB).
Following the race, Mia Nicholls reported that Legal Mind (GB), unplaced, suffered interference approaching 1 furlong out and William Pyle reported that Jackmeister Rudi (GB), placed fourth, suffered interference approaching 1 furlong out.
