Approaching 1½ furlongs out, Plunger (GB), unplaced, edged left at the same time as Gemma Tutty on Twin Appeal (IRE), placed fifth, went for a legitimate gap causing Sommer Katze (FR), unplaced, to be crowded for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of Plunger (GB), which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
Kevin Stott reported that the gelding weakened quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination during routine testing revealed that Plunger (GB) was displaying a prolonged recovery rate.
Following the race, Callum Rodriguez reported that My Boy Lewis (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away.
