The Raceday Stewards enquired into possible interference in the closing stages involving Bright Dick, ridden by J
Kearney, placed first, and Super Cub (GB), ridden by P.A. Harnett, placed second, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. J. Kearney stated that his mount leaned right and he did not think there had been contact. P. A. Harnett stated that he received a bump and lost some momentum
Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards were of the opinion that while Bright Dick had caused interference to Super Cub he did not improve his finishing position as a result of this interference so they made no alteration to the Judge’s placings and took no further action
R. Whearty, rider of Feature This, trained by Paul W. Flynn, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount got tight for room. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the matter the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
P.A. Harnett, rider of Super Cub (GB), trained by Denis Gerard Hogan, reported to the Clerk of the Scales that his mount was crossed in the last furlong.
