The Starter reported Rhoscolyn (GB) was the subject of a third criteria failure.
David O’Meara was informed that the gelding could not run until the day after passing a stalls test.
As it was the second occasion within the previous 12 months that Rhoscolyn (GB) had been reported, a further report within the same period would mean the gelding would be prevented from having a stalls test for 6 months.
Shortly after leaving the stalls, Above (FR), placed seventh, Count Otto (IRE), unplaced, and the winner, Rhoscolyn (GB), came together causing them all to become unbalanced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 6 furlongs out involving Above (FR), placed seventh, ridden by Oisin Murphy, Count Otto (IRE), unplaced, ridden Jim Crowley, and the winner, Rhoscolyn (GB), ridden by James Doyle.
Murphy was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to edge right-handed, when insufficiently clear, carrying Count Otto (IRE) and Rhoscolyn (GB) slightly off their intended lines.
Following the race, Charles Hills' representative reported that Dulas (IRE), placed eighth, ran flat.
