An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference in the final furlong when the winner, Jomont (FR), ridden by Connor Beasley, interfered with Raiff (IRE), placed third, ridden by Dale Swift.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved the placing of Jomont (FR) as Swift did not stop riding, lost no momentum and Raiff (IRE) was always being held by the winner with the beaten margin being ¾ length.
Beasley was suspended for 3 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to drift right without sufficient correction, taking Raiff (IRE) off its intended line.
Inside the final ½ furlong, Connor Beasley struck Raiff (IRE) once across the nose with his whip but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was considered to be accidental.
