Permission was given for Jungle Jean (IRE) to wear a red hood to post and for Zachary (GB) to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line when the winner, Macarone (GB), ridden by Franny Norton, interfered with Vitarli (IRE), placed second, ridden by Sam James.
Paul Mulrennan, the rider of Elliott (IRE), placed third, was also interviewed but deemed not to have suffered interference.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Macarone (GB)’s placing as Vitarli (IRE) did not lose any ground or momentum as a result of the minimal interference and Macarone (GB) came from behind Vitarli (IRE) shortly before the line, winning by a head.
Norton was cautioned for careless riding as he allowed his mount to drift right-handed without sufficient correction carrying Vitarli (IRE) slightly off its intended line.
Following the race, Hollie Doyle reported that Jungle Jean (IRE), unplaced, was never travelling and Greg Cheyne reported that Mart (GB), unplaced, was slowly away.
