R. Walsh, rider of Val De Ferbet (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Stewards' Secretaries that his mount jumped poorly and was pulled up. A.P. Heskin, rider of Doing Fine trained by Rebecca Curtis (in GB), reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount burst blood vessells. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined Val De Ferbet (FR), trained by W.P. Mullins, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal.
A limited handicap steeplechase for five yrs old and upwards that have not won a steeplechase before 4th May, 2014 other than one Hunters Steeplechase in the previous two National Hunt seasons. Weights - In accordance with HRI Directive 3 (ii) (a); the maximum stipulated weight in this race; is 11st 10lb and the minimum stipulated; weight is 10st 3lb Penalties - After calculation of the handicap a winner of a steeplechase or steeplechases shall carry any penalty or penalties which may be allotted by the Handicapper.
