The Stewards interviewed Miss M. O'Sullivan, rider of The Names Jock, concerning her use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In her evidence, Miss M. O'Sullivan stated that she had mistakenly taken her hand off the reins to slap her mount a number of times down the shoulder which was not her regular riding style. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that Miss M. O'Sullivan was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using her whip with excessive frequency. Having taken her previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended Miss M. O'Sullivan for two racedays

Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 7lb extra for each race won.
Riders - Lady Riders only - 1. who hold a Licence or Apprentice Licence under Rules of Racing. 2. who hold a Licence or Apprentice Licence under Rules of Racing issued by any Recognised Turf Authority. 3. who are Qualified Riders under I.N.H.S. Rules. 4. who hold a Permit to ride in Flat Races issued by any other Recognised Turf Authority.
