Dundalk wasn’t an ideal surface for him but I felt it was a good race to start him in at that stage of the year. We were drawn 18 but I felt if he broke well that he’d have a chance. He’s a nice horse and has been working well since he ran in Dundalk and hopefully he can continue his progression. Phoenix Of Spain is a nice stallion and has had plenty of good winners and a third in the Guineas the other day. Colin was delighted, but he is a weak horse so this was a bonus. We'll go back to the drawing boards at home now, but I'd say that could be it (for the year) as he will strengthen up an awful lot for next year. This ground helped but we were worried weakness would get the better of him. He won well there and seven (furlongs) is his trip, but it is all about next year with him. she won nicely, is a beautifully bred filly and is from a family we know extremely well. She had a reasonable run in Leopardstown and put that experience to good use today. She was well beaten - finishing ninth, on her debut so was entitled to get into this race but equally this is a family which improves with age. hopefully she can progress through the year and we'll look for a conditions race for her somewhere in a few weeks' time. I think she'd like better ground although the ground isn't as bad as we thought it would be.
