We had her operated for her wind and (she) has improved a lot from it. We always thought a lot of her, but had been disappointing on her last couple of runs. She always worked well at home, but at Cork the last day she didn't get home over 2m4f. He (Smith) said she idled when she hit the front and hopefully she can improve from that. It was a return to form but we fancied him at Roscommon when he didn't left himself down on the ground,. He ran a good race though and was only beaten fourteen lengths. Oran said he just didn't feel it the last day and was jarry a wee bit. He said he travelled today and was different gravy. We fancied him as he said if he had a cut in the ground the last day he'd have been thereabouts. We walked the track and they did a serious job watering today. At the furlong pole I thought we had no chance, passing the line I thought we were up, but then when they showed the slow-mo, I didn't. She's a lovely filly. She won two last year and it looked like she'd come on for that but we went hurdling, and she ran very well one day but the last couple of runs were a bit below par. Coming today she looked great and seemed to be in great form, she seemed back to herself. What the difference was I'm not really sure. I thought we had a chance coming and told the owner we were in trouble if we didn't run well today, luckily she did. She's a good, tough mare, I'll have a chat with the owner now and see. He's a very big, raw horse and hopefully there is a bit of improvement there. For a horse that has had a few runs, he's still fairly raw but he went to the line well. The rail was a help to him.
