6.35 1m. 1f. 3-y-o10 Ran P & D Lydon Plant Hire H´cap (Rated 60-95) of €15,500.00 3-y-o
1st - €10,710.50, 2nd - €2,635.00, 3rd - €1,240.00, 4th - €775.00 10 Ran Corana wasn't too keen about going in the stalls and her trainer Pat Martin said he had a
"big if" about her on this ground, but the daughter of Elnadim overcame these drawbacks and
not the clearest of passages to score in good style. Martin expanded, "her dam was by
Turtle Island and I'd say that helped her get home. She was very hot last year but she has
settled down."
Amarama looked a winner when getting to the front over a furlong out, but in fairness to her
it was hard to resist Corana's final furlong surge. This was encouraging and it won't
be a surprise if connections find an opening for the Fraam filly at some stage.
Alhabeeb (11/4 in the morning and 5/2 into 7/4 on track) had every chance and it looked at
one stage as if Declan McDonogh would persuade him into winning. As a son of Alhaarth,
he'll always have to be considered on this sort of terrain but he won't ever be one to be
supporting at skinny odds.
