Approaching 1 mile out, the winner, Hulcote (GB), which was running freely, edged right-handed, crowding Indy (IRE), unplaced, for room on the rail, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Hulcote (GB).
At the same time, Thistimenextyear (GB), placed second, changed leads and shifted quickly right-handed, carrying Dark Red (IRE), unplaced, off its intended line, which in turn caused the rider of Lunar Jet (GB), unplaced, to take a check, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Thistimenextyear (GB).
Following the race, Jimmy Quinn reported that Lunar Jet (GB), placed third, suffered interference in running approaching 1 mile out.
David Probert reported that Lorelina (GB), which started joint-favourite and finished unplaced, stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the mare, during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
