An enquiry was held into the faulty action of the starting stalls in this race.
Jimmy Quinn, the rider of Kings Academy (GB), unplaced, the trainer John Mackie and the Starter were interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
It was found that there had been a faulty action of the starting stalls resulting in stall 3, opening fractionally after the rest of the stalls (1-2 and 4-12).
Being satisfied that the malfunction had not materially prejudiced a sufficient number of runners, no further action was taken but a report was forwarded to the Head Office of the British Horseracing Authority.
Following the race, Daniel Muscutt reported that Pushkin Museum (IRE), unplaced, was never travelling; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
David Nolan reported that Jem Scuttle (USA), unplaced, was too keen.
Luke Morris reported that In Trutina (GB), unplaced, reared in the stalls.
