An enquiry was held to consider interference approaching 2 ½ furlongs out involving Cavalier Approach (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Paul Hanagan and American Rose (GB), placed third, ridden by Dougie Costello.
Rowan Scott the rider of Exceed (IRE), placed second was also present in the enquiry, but it was found he was not involved in the incident.
The interference was found to be accidental as in a compact field the free running American Rose (GB) edged slightly right-handed, causing Cavalier Approach (IRE) to become short for room against the rail and Hanagan to take a check.
Approximately 1 ½ furlongs out, the winner, Doctor Mozart (IRE), hung right-handed despite the rider's best effort to correct the gelding which caused Urban Dandy (IRE)'s, placed fifth, quarters to be turned and to become briefly unbalanced but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved and that it had not improved the placing of Doctor Mozart (IRE).
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference on the run to the line involving the winner Doctor Mozart (IRE), ridden by Rossa Ryan and Exceed (IRE), placed second, ridden by Rowan Scott.
The Stewards considered that the interference had not improved Doctor Mozart (IRE)’s placing as the gelding edged right at the same time as Exceed (IRE) edged left causing the runners to make contact and bump a stride before the line.
Taking that into account the Stewards considered that both runners had contributed to the interference and could not be satisfied that Exceed (IRE) would have finished in front of Doctor Mozart (IRE) and ordered the placings to remain unaltered.
The Stewards deemed the interference to be accidental as in the concluding stages both horses edged quickly towards each other resulting in them making contact one stride before the line.
Following the race, Dougie Costello reported that American Rose (GB), placed third, ran too free and Paul Hanagan reported that Cavalier Approach (IRE), unplaced, suffered interference 2 ½ furlongs out.
