The Stewards received a report from the Clerk of the Scales, Mr. Hugh Hynes, that C. Brace, rider of Man Of Plenty (GB), weighed in at 1.3 lbs underweight. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned who stated that he was unable to account for the discrepancy as he had weighed out with a saddle and lead cloth and no amendments had been made since he weighed out. Mr Christian Leech, Authorised representative for Sophie Leech, trainer of Man Of Plenty (GB) was unable to furnish any reason as to how the loss of any weight had transpired since the time that he took the tack and saddled their charge. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that C. Brace was in breach of Rule 231 (i) by failing to draw the correct weight after the 1.0 lb allowance had been taken into account and in accordance with the provisions of this rule, Man Of Plenty (GB) was disqualified. The Stewards did not take any action against either party. The amended result now reads; First - Pearl Of The West, Second - Cosmo's Moon, Third - Mitchouka (FR), Fourth - La Sorelita (FR), Fifth - Dolciano Dici (FR), Sixth - Jan Maat (GER)..
