Approximately 1 furlong out, Many A Star (IRE), unplaced, hung quickly left-handed, causing Reassure (GB), unplaced, and Audio (GB), unplaced, to be checked in their run, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately three-quarters of a furlong out when the winner, Dark Regard (GB), ridden by P J McDonald, interfered with Moon Of Love (IRE), placed third, ridden by Barry McHugh, which in turn interfered with Zulu Zander (IRE), placed seventh, ridden by Clifford Lee.
McDonald was suspended for 2 days for careless riding as he had allowed his mount to shift left-handed without timely correction, carrying Moon Of Love (IRE) off its intended line for several strides and causing that filly to bump Zulu Zander (IRE) and turn the gelding’s quarters.
Following the race, Angus Villiers reported that Great Dame (IRE), unplaced, was slowly away and did not face the kickback, Hollie Doyle reported that Little Brown Trout (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run for some distance in the home straight until approaching half a furlong out, James Doyle reported that Reassure (GB), which started second favourite and finished unplaced, was denied a clear run for some distance from approaching the final furlong marker, Jason Watson reported that Winning Streak (GB), placed fourth, was denied a clear run just inside the final furlong marker and Thore Hammer Hansen reported that Audio (GB), unplaced, was denied a clear run approaching half a furlong out.
