The winner Abate (GB) appeared to show an improvement in form, compared with its previous run at York on 10 July 2021, where the gelding finished thirteenth of nineteen beaten 7 lengths.
Adrian Nicholls' explanation was noted that the gelding may have benefitted from the drop back in trip to 5 furlongs and the drop in grade on this occasion.
Following the race, Cam Hardie reported that Canford Bay (IRE), placed fourth, hung left throughout.
Mollie Phillips reported that Bezzas Lad (IRE), placed second, hung right inside the final 2 furlongs.
Richard Kingscote reported that Outrage (GB), placed fifth, became unbalanced on the undulations.
