Permission was given for Independent Beauty (GB) to go early to post and to be mounted in the chute.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 2 furlongs out, when the winner Tathmeen (IRE), ridden by Harry Russell, interfered with Final Account (GB), unplaced, ridden by Tom Marquand and Muatadel (GB), unplaced, ridden by Zak Wheatley.
Russell was suspended for 7 days for careless riding as he switched right-handed when insufficiently clear of Marquand, resulting in Final Account (GB) becoming short of room, getting caught on heels and stumbling, losing all momentum as a result and in turn giving a bump to Muatadel (GB).
Inside final furlong, Bluebird (GB), unplaced, shifted quickly left-handed away from the whip, before being swiftly corrected, which caused Cazeva Princess (GB), unplaced, to become short of room and in turn bumped Dapper Man, unplaced, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of Fylingdale (IRE), which started favourite and finished twelfth of thirteen runners, was considered.
The representative of Tim Easterby could offer no explanation for the filly’s performance on this occasion.
The Veterinary Officer reported that a post race examination of Fylingdale (IRE), during routine testing, failed to reveal any abnormalities.
Following the race, P J McDonald reported that Paddy K (GB), placed fifth, was denied a clear run in the final ½ furlong.
Fredrick Larson reported that Cazeva Princess (GB), unplaced, suffered interference inside the final furlong.
