Permission was given for Turn And Burn (IRE) to go early to post.
An enquiry was held to consider interference approximately 3 ½ furlongs out involving Kohana Girl (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Ray Dawson; Piperstown (IRE), placed third, ridden by William Cox and Falmouth Boy (IRE), unplaced, ridden by Neil Callan.
After interviewing the riders and viewing recordings of the incident, the Stewards were unable to apportion blame due to limited views in poor weather conditions.
The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Turn And Burn (IRE), which had never previously been placed, was considered.
It was noted that Kevin Frost could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved from on this occasion, having only been the second start for the trainer.
Turn And Burn (IRE) was routine tested.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Falmouth Boy (IRE), unplaced, lost its left-hind shoe.
