Approaching the final furlong, Waterlefe Getaway (IRE), unplaced, edged quickly left-handed causing Glimpse Of Gala (GB), placed third to be steadied when crowded for room, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
The performance of Emmarelli (GB) which finished unplaced, was considered.

Following the race, Bryony Frost reported that Wait For The Lord (GB), unplaced, ran too freely; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the mare found it to have suffered a wound to its right-fore and Philip Armson reported that Ask Freddie (IRE), unplaced, stopped quickly; the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
