The Stewards enquired into possible interference in the straight involving Egyptian Warrior, ridden by D. O'Brien, placed second, Strandfield Lady, ridden by C.R. King, placed first, John Constable, ridden by J.P. O'Brien, unplaced and False Economy, ridden by J.A. Heffernan, unplaced . Evidence was heard from the riders concerned in the presence of A.P. O'Brien, trainer of Egyptian Warrior and H.Rogers, trainer of Strandfield Lady. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the judges placings, however C.R.King was advised to ride with more care in future.
An extended handicap for three yrs old and upwards (90 = 10st) Penalties - (after calculation of the handicap) A winner shall carry 5lb extra for each race won Any horse rated above 90 shall initially be treated as having that rating and the highest weight allotted shall be 10st. Subsequently, the excess over 90 in any rating shall be added to the weight allotted to that horse. (For the purpose of this note, any three year old rated above 90 shall have the applicable weight for age allowance then prevailing deducted from the horse's rating prior to the original calculation of the handicap)
