The Stewards interviewed D.N. Russell, rider of Humble Glory, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence D.N. Russell stated that his mount kept responding to his urgings but idled when left alone. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that D.N. Russell was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his clean previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned D.N

The Stewards interviewed L.P. Dempsey, rider of Broomfield Hall, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, L.P. Dempsey stated that his mount was hanging and a couple of hits were used for corrective purposes. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that L.P. Dempsey was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards suspended L.P. Dempsey for one raceday
