The apparent improvement in form of the winner, Dollar And A Dream (IRE), compared with its previous run at Newton Abbot on 8 September 2020 where the gelding finished sixth of eight runners, beaten by 25 lengths, was considered.
Tom George explained that Dollar And A Dream (IRE) had appreciated a drop back in trip in addition to the better ground on this occasion.
His comments were noted and the gelding was routine tested.
Following the race, Brendan Powell reported that Coby Nine (IRE), placed fifth, jumped poorly throughout and Stan Sheppard reported that Getawaytonewbay (IRE), placed eighth, was badly hampered by the faller at the fourth last fence.
The Veterinary Officer reported that Lake Baikal (FR), placed seventh, bled from the nose.
