trained by Jeremy Scott, which was held up towards the rear of the field and appeared to be tenderly handled from leaving the back straight, before staying on in the home straight to finish seventh of the fourteen runners, beaten by 26 lengths.
The rider and the representative of Jeremy Scott were interviewed and shown recordings of the race and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities.
The rider stated his instructions were to sit in the second half of the field and get him settled and jumping in a rhythm as he is an immature type.
He added that he asked the gelding for an effort half way down the back straight but as the pace picked up he struggled to quicken.
He further added that he felt it prudent to keep Blazing Saddles (GB) balanced down the hill and in the home straight as the gelding was starting to tire and in his opinion, Blazing Saddles (GB) only stayed on past beaten horses.
The representative of the trainer was satisfied that the ride accorded with the instructions given.

Following the race, Daryl Jacob reported that Derek Duval (USA), unplaced, stopped quickly and the Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination of the gelding failed to reveal any abnormalities other than Derek Duval (USA) lost its right fore shoe.
Nico de Boinville reported that Roar (IRE), unplaced, ran very green and James Best reported that MARTHA’S DREAM, unplaced, also ran green.
