Following the race, Tom O'Brien reported that TOSHIMA (IRE), which started second favourite and was pulled up, stopped quickly. The Veterinary Officer reported that a post-race examination revealed the gelding had bled from the nose and lost its right fore shoe. The Veterinary Officer further reported that WAX AND WANE, which started favourite and finished unplaced, had bled from the nose, MINIATURE DAFFODIL (IRE), unplaced, lost its right fore shoe and SHAJI, unplaced, lost its left hind shoe.
