Having been examined by the Veterinary Officer, the gelding was deemed fit to race.
An enquiry was held to consider interference shortly after entering the home straight involving Al Qareem (IRE), placed second, ridden by Sam James, and Odisseo (GB), placed third, ridden by Marco Ghiani.
James was suspended for 4 days for improper riding as he had manoeuvred his mount left-handed when Ghiani was upsides and presenting Odisseo (GB) towards a legitimate run on his inside, when it ought to have been obvious that interference would occur as a result of his actions, causing Odisseo (GB) to be switched left-handed having been forced onto the heels of Shorts On (GB), placed fourth.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Shorts On (GB), placed fourth, had lost its left hind shoe.
