Leaving the stalls, Gordonontheorgan (IRE), unplaced, jumped left-handed at the same times as Trulie Good (GB), unplaced, jumped right-handed causing both Giant Steps (IRE), placed fifth, and Western Music (IRE), placed fourth, to be badly tightened for room and also resulted in Gordonontheorgan (IRE) and Trulie Good (GB) becoming unbalanced after having their quarters turned, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
An enquiry was held to consider the placings in this race after interference inside the final furlong when the winner, Thatsthefinest (IRE), ridden by Luke Morris, interfered with Jack Ryan (IRE), placed second, ridden by Darragh Keenan.
The Stewards were unable to be satisfied that Jack Ryan (IRE), beaten by a neck margin would have finished in front of Thatsthefinest (IRE) had the interference not occurred, after finding that Keenan had been briefly hampered when left short of room approximately ¾ of a furlong out and was then obliged to switch quickly left-handed across Morris’s heels in order to continue his run.
The interference was found to be accidental as Thatsthefinest (IRE) had hung sharply right- handed away from the whip and Morris had reacted swiftly by attempting to straighten his mount.
Following the race, Theodore Ladd reported that Elektronic (IRE), unplaced, hung badly left-handed and John Egan reported that Trulie Good (GB), unplaced, hung badly right-handed.
