The Stewards wished to interview Mr F. Maguire, rider of Jungle Junction, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. As the rider was unavailable to the Stewards as required under Rule 229 (v) they referred the matter of his unavailability and his use of the whip to the Referrals Committee

Rules (other than Apprentices) who have not lost the right to claim the 7lb allowance under Rule 52 (iii) (up to and including 4th December) may also ride in this race.
