The Stewards interviewed R.J. Condon, rider of Heaven Help Us, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence he stated that he had started to use his whip when left in front off the home turn and accepted that he had breached the whip guidelines. Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence the Stewards were of the opinion that R.J. Condon was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous good record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned R.J. Condon on this occasion
P. Townend, rider of Dysart Diamond trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was badly hampered at the second last hurdle.
