A fine ride by Michael Cleere saw him hold his head, bide his time and keep to the rail aboard Ginger Princess who was a decent winner of this one for Oliver McKiernan. The winner was having his fifth start since the turn of the year and he won the first of them at Southwell over the same trip but on his last Irish outing he was outclassed in last week's Irish Lincoln.

When called before the stewards regarding an improvement in form, less testing ground and a change of tactics were the reason given behind the win. The six year-old is a maiden over hurdles from two starts and depending on the flat handicappers opinion of this race he may make a return to that code.

Ghostmilk came out of the pack to chase the winner but failed to ever get on terms or threaten to do so. It is still just one win from 18 starts for the four year old who probably doesn't get the success he deserves for consistency. Another win should be on the cards soon.

Dermot Weld's Beach Bound won a maiden at Tramore in 2005, missed the whole of 2006 and never even threatened to land a blow in four starts last season so this effort was encouraging and a win in handicap company at one of the summer festivals over a mile or so would be no surprise.

48 runs on the flat for Rockazar have yielded four wins for his loyal connections but a glance at all his comments in running sees a regular statement ? `kept on well' being the most used. That was again the case here and the frustrating seven-year-old proved expensive for favourite backers.

Sheer Silk and Glenmuir both appeared to want further and better ground and were not beaten too far at the death.
