The Raceday Stewards reviewed an incident after jumping the third last hurdle involving Summer Melody, ridden by P. Byrnes, fell, Attaboyarchie, ridden by Miss E.J. Sweeney, placed fifth, and Ask The Bookie, ridden by D
King, placed third, where it appeared D. King had to sit for a stride. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the matter, the Raceday Stewards were satisfied that no further action was warranted
The Raceday Stewards enquired into an incident on the home bend involving Rut Daniels, ridden by R.P. Treacy, placed fourth, Say It So, ridden by C.P. McNamara, placed sixth, and Ask The Bookie, ridden by D. King, placed third, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. R.P
Treacy stated that his mount became unbalanced on two occasions. D. King stated that as he was in the gap he received pressure from his outside and had to take back. C.P. McNamara stated that his mount lugged badly to the right despite his best efforts and apologised for causing interference. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Raceday Stewards found C.P. McNamara was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly. Having considered his clean record in this regard, the Raceday Stewards suspended him for two racedays. Mr. J. O'Shaughnessy absented himself from this enquiry.
