Leaving the stalls, Central City (IRE), drawn 4, placed seventh, and Orange Suit (IRE), drawn 5, placed sixth, bumped on several occasions.
A short distance later, Central City (IRE), shifted right- handed at the same time as Plunger (GB), drawn 6, placed eighth, edged left-handed, which resulted in Orange Suit (IRE) being badly hampered.

Ben Curtis reported that Crimson King (IRE), which started favourite and finished fourth, hung left-handed in the home straight.
