The Stewards enquired into an incident after the finishing line involving Entoucas (FR), ridden by M.P. Walsh and Thatsy (FR), ridden by D.N. Russell, where it appeared that Entoucas crashed through railings after crossing the finishing line, colliding with a racing photographer, Mr. Pat Healy. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned and from Mr. P.F. Graffin, Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board Clerk of the Course. M.P. Walsh stated that he did not receive any contact or intimidation from Thatsy and that his mount is a quirky individual who took a look at the gap in the railings at the finishing line and broke through the running rails for no apparent reason. Mr. P.F. Graffin added that the gap in the railings is standard and is necessary to accommodate photo finishes. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were satisfied that there was no fault with the layout of the course, that there was no breach of raceday rules and that both riders were blameless, however, due to the gravity of the incident, the Stewards referred the matter to the CEO of the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board for further investigation
P. Townend, rider of Francin (FR) trained by W.P. Mullins, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount was very keen.
