His sister went out on her sword earlier on. She ran a wonderful race in the Prix Royal-Oak, she was absolutely loving it. The winner is rated 118 and is a good horse and they are clear of the rest. If he wasn't in the race she would have won easily. This is Finny's first winner at the Curragh which is lovely and we're delighted for Ronan who is a long-standing and loyal supporter. The Stewards interviewed Mr F. Maguire, rider of Falcon Eight, concerning his use of the whip in the latter stages of this race. Evidence was heard from the rider concerned. In his evidence, Mr F. Maguire stated that his mount was hanging badly in behind the leaders but responded to his urgings to take the lead and run on to the finish
Having viewed a recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that Mr F
Maguire was in breach of R10(3)(g) by using his whip with excessive frequency. Having taken his previous record into consideration, the Stewards cautioned Mr F. Maguire on this occasion.
