Lifetime has his day
He blew it at Cheltenham but has always shown alot at home. He needs to improve his jumping which was not fast enough. We'll try to get another run into him before Cheltenham but it may not be possible to run him again before the Festival. He'll be entered for both the Supreme Novices and the Neptune.
Realt just prevails in Arkle
He jumped brilliant and a strong run two miles seems to suit. He's really tough and stuck his head out. He did a nice bit of work on Tuesday over a mile and a half, and he actually worked alot better than he did before Christmas. He'll go for the Arkle at Cheltenham now and, looking further down the line, the Power Gold Cup at Fairyhouse is another probable target,.
Hurricane is Champion class
Thousand Stars went a searching pace, and it was a proper trial for Cheltenham. He cut his heel here the last day, and only worked average the other day. That was a good performance and we'll give him a little break now before building him up again for Cheltenham. He can jump a bit right when there is nothing on his outside but is very slick when other horses are around him.
Cyclone storms home
We schooled him since the last day and he jumped pretty well. We wanted to get a lead but they were not going quick enough and Andrew did the right thing by going on. He won't ever go back in trip again. I'll have to talk it over with the owners but I'm not overly keen on going to Cheltenham. He needs cut in the ground, and I hope he'll make a top class chaser. He'll probably have one more run this season.
Gerry lands the money on handicap debut
It was a big enough ask today but the penny is beginning to drop with him now and he's improving with each run. We'll see what the handicapper does now. To be honest anything over hurdles is a bonus with him as he looks a chaser for next year.
Hanlon doubles up with Lane
I'm delighted for Barry as he also owned this fella's brother Western Leader who was badly injured last year. I thought he'd be more impressive and was a Cheltenham horse. I'm not sure now and we'll have to talk it over before deciding what to do.
