The Stewards interviewed John James Feane, trainer, concerning his failure to nominate a rider before the designated time for Asian Wing. Evidence was heard from the trainer, who explained the circumstances surrounding his failure and requested permission for apprentice rider P.J. Jones to ride his charge. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the request, but found the trainer to be in breach of Rule 195 and cautioned him concerning his future responsibilities in this regard. The Stewards fined R.P. McNamara, trainer, ?350 for lodging a passport in respect of Simafar, in which the vaccinations did not conform with the provisions of Rule 91. The Stewards allowed the horse to run on receipt of the trainer's written assurance that the vaccinations were in order. The Turf Club Veterinary Officer examined In Our Blood, trained by Miss Natalia Lupini, at the request of the Stewards and reported the animal to be post race normal. D.M. Redmond, rider of In Our Blood trained by Miss Natalia Lupini, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his mount never travelled. The Stewards enquired into an incident involving Dazzle The Duel, ridden by N.M. Crosse and Bo Bridget, ridden by A.J. Breslin. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned in the presence of H. Rodgers, trainer, representing W. Mc.Creery, trainer and master of N.M. Crosse. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards were of the opinion that N.M. Crosse was in breach of Rule 214 in that he had ridden carelessly and having considered his record, suspended him for three racedays. John James Feane, trainer of Asian Wing, reported to the Clerk of Scales that his charge was slowly away when the stalls opened.
