Permission was given for Soames Forsyte (GB) to go early to post, wearing a red hood; and for Devasboy (GB) to wear a red hood to post.
William Kennedy, the rider of Devasboy (GB), drawn 1, was slow to remove the blindfold, resulting in his horse being slow to start.
After being interviewed and shown recordings of the incident.
Kennedy’s explanation that the blind got caught and did not come off on the first attempt, was noted.
An enquiry was held to consider interference just passing the 2 furlong marker pole, involving Oh Herberts Reign (IRE), placed fifth, ridden by Adrian Nicholls and Vondelpark (GB), unplaced, ridden by Gary Bardwell.
Nicholls was cautioned for careless riding as he switched his mount right-handed, when insufficiently clear of Vondelpark (GB), causing Bardwell to take a slight check.
Following the race, Russ Kennemore reported that Soames Forsyte (GB), unplaced, hung right-handed throughout the race.
