Owing to the low lying elevation of the sun, the Stewards granted permission for fences # 5,6 & 7 to be omitted from this race The Stewards requested a report into the fall of Roxboro Road, ridden by L.P. Dempsey on the second last bend
L.P. Dempsey while detained in the Medical Centre, reported to a Stewards Secretary that everything happened very fast but he had a feeling that he may have clipped a heel but did not blame any other rider for the fall. C.P
McNamara, rider of Gwencily Berbas (FR) and C.D. Timmons, rider of Fruits Of Glory, both reported that everything happened so fast and their mounts were unavoidably brought down.
