Permission was given for Last Sunset (IRE) and Star Jewel (GB) to each wear a red hood to the start.
Permission was also given for Celestial Queen (GB) to be mounted in the chute.
Approaching the final furlong, Last Sunset (IRE), placed fifth, hung right-handed moving Ffion (GB), placed third, off its intended line which caused Celestial Queen (GB), placed sixth, to be short of room and move slightly right which caused the winner, Star Jewel (GB), to become unbalanced on the outside, but after viewing a recording of the incident, it was found that no riding offence was involved.
Following the race, the Veterinary Officer reported that Last Sunset (IRE), placed fifth, lost its left-fore shoe.
