Permission was given for Noble Style (GB), Rabaah (IRE) and Sterling Knight (GB) to wear a red hood to post; Apollo One (GB) to be mounted in the chute.
The winner, Desert Cop (GB), appeared to show improved form compared with its previous run at Kempton on 6 April 2024 where the gelding finished twelfth of twelve, beaten by 17 lengths.
It was noted that the Andrew Balding could offer no explanation for the gelding’s improved form other than that it being caught wide in its previous run.
Desert Cop (GB) was routine tested.
The performance of Summerghand (IRE) which started favourite and finished unplaced, was considered.
David O'Meara’s explanation that the gelding ran flat, was noted.
Following the race, Edward Greatrex reported that Chairmanoftheboard (IRE), placed third, was slowly away and William Buick reported that Noble Style (GB), unplaced, was slowly away.
