The Stewards interviewed Thomas Gibney, trainer of Mr Saxobeat, in relation to the late withdrawal of his charge due to the going. Evidence was heard from the trainer who stated that his charge was present at the track and he had intended to run. Thomas Gibney had concerns regarding the going prior to racing given that forecast rain had not materialised. Following the running of the first race, he was of the opinion that the ground would be too lively for his charge and in the interest of safety withdrew. Having considered the evidence, the Stewards allowed the late withdrawal of Mr. Saxobeat
