The Stewards enquired into possible interference approxmately 100 yards from the finish involving Speak In Colours (GB), ridden by D. O'Brien, placed first, Beckford (GB), ridden by C.T. Keane, placed fifth, Gordon Lord Byron, ridden by W.J. Lee, placed sixth and Southern Horse (ARG), ridden by K.J. Manning, placed fourth, where it appeared interference may have occurred. Evidence was heard from the riders concerned. Having viewed the recording of the race and considered the evidence, the Stewards made no alteration to the Judge's placings and took no further action other than to advise C.T. Keane to ride with more care in future
